IRClass Academy, the training arm of Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass), has released a comprehensive catalogue covering some 50 courses that cater exclusively to the maritime sector.
Training Catalogue 2017-18 and the calendar of courses can be accessed from the website: www.irclass.org/academy/.
This strategic initiative from IRClass addresses the training needs of the shipping industry, which has been seeking to upgrade the competencies of their floating staff as well as shore-based personnel in a structured manner.
Designed and developed in line with the industry needs, the courses offered by IRClass Academy address the business and operational risks faced by the operators. Focusing on maritime professional development, these courses address five segments:
In addition to the courses listed in the catalogue and announced in the current calendar, several new courses are under development.
Apart from addressing the emerging training needs of companies and organisations looking to enhance their employees’ competencies, these courses also cater to individuals, including seafarers, who aspire to advance their career growth through professional development.
The courses currently on offer adopt a blended learning approach – this methodology is where value addition is maximised and practical issues relating to on-the-job challenges are discussed at length with experts.
Trainees come to the classroom fully primed with the background knowledge since they are given access to pre-course study materials through an e-learning site.
To supplement the in-house expertise and to deliver courses across a wide range of specialist areas, IRClass Academy has assembled a panel of external experts, who will assist in the design and delivery of the training programmes.
IRClass Academy will be pleased to customise its courses and deliver them at locations preferred by the clients.
Flexible training solutions offered by the IRClass Academy are expected to enhance the overall customer experience and engagement with IRClass.
Mr. Suresh Sinha, Managing Director, said today: “In the current challenging maritime environment, there is heightened demand for flexible, cost-effective, as well as sharply-focused, value-added training solutions.”
“Our training solutions will help companies to cope with the regulatory changes, the latest technologies and the growing need for multi-skilled human resources. IRClass hopes to serve this demand with our unique value proposition.”
